Inspected by J. Batchelor. Pre owned example showing signs of previous use. Surface marks and light scratching are visible across areas of the gold tone bracelet, clasp, bezel and case and have been considered when grading the watch. The green sunray dial presents well and no obvious cracks or significant damage are visible to the sapphire crystal during visual inspection. Spare bracelet links are included, together with the pictured Citizen guarantee information and setting instructions booklet. A presentation box and dated warranty card are not shown and should therefore not be assumed to be included. Automatic movement, crown operation, date change and general functionality should be confirmed during final physical inspection before dispatch. Water resistance has not been independently pressure tested by Watch Season and no current water resistance guarantee is made.
WATCH 13 of the £200 Watch to Rolex challenge. After Watch 12 took the series into vintage Omega territory and became our first £1,000 sale, Watch 13 takes a completely different direction. This gold and green Citizen Tsuyosa is all about wrist presence. The integrated bracelet, 40mm case and deep green sunray dial make it immediately recognisable, while the automatic movement keeps it firmly within the mechanical watches that have driven this series. One of the things I want this challenge to show is that the road to the Rolex does not have to be a straight progression through increasingly expensive watches. The right watch bought at the right price can keep the pot moving regardless of the name on the dial. Watch 13. Another trade. Another step towards the Rolex.
Watch 13 of the £200 Watch to Rolex challenge brings us back to Citizen with one of the most distinctive versions of the Tsuyosa. The 40mm Citizen Tsuyosa combines a rich sunray green dial with a gold tone stainless steel case and matching integrated bracelet. The combination has serious wrist presence, with brushed and polished finishes giving the case and bracelet plenty of depth. Inside is Citizen’s calibre 8210 automatic movement, offering approximately 42 hours of power reserve and visible through the exhibition caseback. Sapphire crystal, luminous hands and markers and the magnified date window complete a watch that delivers a lot of specification for the money.
