Excellent overall condition. Case, bezel and crystal present very well with only light signs of careful use. Original five row Jubilee style bracelet is in exceptionally good condition and appears virtually unworn. Watch is functioning correctly at time of inspection, including automatic winding, GMT hand, date change and crown operation. Original Goldsmiths paperwork and care package included. Additional nylon and leather quick release strap included. No obvious damage noted from visual inspection. Not pressure tested unless separately confirmed.
The story
Watch 7 of the £200 watch to Rolex challenge. After a few trickier watches, this felt like the right time to get back into something simple, recognisable and easy to wear. The Seiko 5 Sports GMT “Blueberry”. Bought for £250, with £8.92 in eBay fees and £4.83 postage, bringing the total cash outlay to £266.50. It also comes with Goldsmiths Care worth £56.20, original paperwork, AD bag, box, an additional quick release strap and an original Jubilee style bracelet that looks virtually unworn. The original watch RRP was £420, so with the Goldsmiths Care included the original package value was around £476.20. I’m asking £320. This one feels like a much safer move for the series. Recognisable brand, GMT complication, strong colourway, excellent condition and a proper saving against retail. After the TAG drama and the slower Frédérique Constant sale, I wanted something that could get the confidence and momentum back into the challenge. Now we see if it works.
Description
Seiko 5 Sports GMT SSK003K1 “Blueberry” in excellent overall condition. This is a highly wearable automatic GMT with a blue dial, blue and black 24 hour bezel, red GMT hand and the original five row Jubilee style bracelet. The watch is powered by Seiko’s 4R34 automatic GMT movement with manual winding, 24 jewels and approximately 41 hours of power reserve. This example was originally purchased through Goldsmiths and comes with its original sales receipt, Goldsmiths documentation, AD bag, box and Goldsmiths Care originally worth £56.20. Also included is an additional nylon and leather quick release strap. The original Jubilee style bracelet is in exceptional condition and appears virtually unworn.
