Inspected by J. Batchelor. The watch presents in very good pre owned condition from the supplied photographs. The black dial presents cleanly, with the Eastern Arabic numerals, hands, Seiko branding and day/date display appearing complete and well presented. The stainless steel case and bracelet show light signs of previous use consistent with normal wear. Any surface marks should be considered part of the watch’s pre owned condition. No obvious major chips or cracks are visible to the Hardlex crystal from the supplied photographs. The automatic movement, crown operation, day and date change, bracelet and clasp should be confirmed again during final inspection before dispatch. Supplied with the pictured Seiko presentation box. The watch was originally rated to 50 metres water resistance. No independent pressure test has been carried out by Watch Season and current water resistance is therefore not guaranteed.
This is exactly the kind of Seiko I like bringing into Watch Season. At first glance it is a classic Seiko 5, but the Eastern Arabic numeral dial completely changes the character of the watch. Originally produced primarily for the Middle Eastern market, the SNKP21J1 has developed a following well beyond that region because of how unusual the dial is compared with the standard Seiko catalogue. The black sunburst finish, oversized numerals and matching bilingual day display give it loads of personality without making it difficult to wear. Affordable, automatic and genuinely different. Exactly the sort of watch that makes Watch Season interesting.
Rubber Strap not-included* The Seiko 5 SNKP21J1 is one of the most distinctive versions of the classic Seiko 5 formula. Its defining feature is the black sunburst dial with large Eastern Arabic numerals, paired with a matching Arabic and English day display at 3 o’clock. The result is a watch that immediately stands apart from the standard Seiko 5 models while still retaining the simple, practical design that made the collection so popular. The 42mm stainless steel case gives it plenty of wrist presence, while the automatic 7S26 movement can be seen through the exhibition caseback. A stainless steel bracelet completes the clean, everyday look. A particularly interesting Seiko for anyone looking for something less common than the usual Seiko 5.
